Dr. Aito Ueno, PhD, was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She has a PhD in Immunology from the University of Tokyo and previously worked on elucidating the biological functions of macrophages, dendritic cells and T cells in autoimmune diseases. She is an expert in morphological and molecular biology techniques. She boasts over 15 years of laboratory experience, has previously mentored undergraduate and graduate students, and is well-versed in performing mouse and human studies. Since joining Dr. Poon’s lab in 2024, she enjoys exploring the mysteries of brain tumor science.

 
Besides her work, she loves spending time with her beloved dog, Oreo, who has the same black hair, black eyes and a sweet tooth like herself.
